Hazare recovering fast

Anna’s weight has started stabilizing after a regular liquid diet, a medical bulletin issued by Medanta Medicity Hospital, Gurgaon, said. Though Anna Hazare is recovering fast, doctors could not decide on how long he would be in the hospital.

The hospital is run by noted cardiologist, Dr.Naresh Trehan. Dr Trehan said that Hazare’s health would be monitored for two to three days and only then a decision on discharging him would be taken.

A team of  two to three doctors has been continuously observing his health. “His weight has started stabilizing. The loss that has been 500 grams daily came down to 200 grams a day,” Dr Trehan told reporters. Anna lost 7.5 kg during his fast.

Ketone level in his urine has also reduced and his blood pressure is now 130/84, the doctor said. Hazare had been put on a liquid diet for at least 48 hours that includes coconut water and honey. “We have started liquid diet. After this, we will slowly move towards semi-liquid diet and solid diet thereafter," Dr Trehan said.
