'New transformer installed to provide water'

Speaking after visiting Yagachi Muguluvalli Housing Board water supply unit, he said the transformer at Muguluvalli pump house was getting spoiled every now and then. This was causing inconvenience to the supply of water. The new transformer was installed at an estimated cost of Rs 15 lakh.

Yagachi pump house has 350 HP two turbine pumps. The jackwell of one pump has developed cracks. Additional pipes will be purchased and laid, he added. Yagachi river catchment region is filled with mud water due to heavy rains. The same water is being supplied to Housing Board purifying unit. Though efforts are being made to supply pure water, some extensions get mud mixed water. Measures have been taken to change the filter media in purifying unit. Water is being sent to laboratory for testing, he added.

CMC Commissioner V H Krishnamurthy said CMC quarters is situated next to Muguluvalli pump house. To supply water, borewell will be dug, he added.
CMC Vice President Kasthuri S Pawar, and others were present.
