In its latest report on Sunday, the CDC said the state of Illinois has confirmed 466 cases of the A(H1N1) flu, followed by Wisconsin with 357 cases, California with 282 cases. New York has reported 190 cases while 182 confirmed cases were reported from Arizona, the CDC said.

The number of confirmed cases Saturday was 2,254 with 104 people being hospitalized.

The increase in the number of confirmed cases showed that the ongoing outbreak of the novel influenza continues to expand in the US. CDC officials have said they expect the flu to spread to all 50 states in the US, causing severe disease and even some deaths.
