As much as 2.9 lakh cusec of water has already been released from the reservoir. Crops in thousands of acres at Bagur, Anjala, Anjesugur, Gopalapura, Vagadambali, Hoovinahedli, Joladahedli, Dondambali, Parthapura, Myadaragola, Kurkihalli, Yatagal and Gaagal villages were destroyed. With River Krishna in spate, the villages of Joladahedli and Dondambali have been cut-off from other villages.

Passengers travelling to Raichur, Gulbarga, Yadgir and the neighbouring state of Maharashtra have been forced to take a 70-km detour through Devadurga, Jalahalli,
Thinthini and Surapura due to the inundation of the bridge.
