Police diffuse tension in 2 incidents in Koppa taluk

An untoward incident took place at Kuduregundi in Koppa taluk before the commencement of the meet.

A group of men caught a youth who was stealing pipe from Kuduregundi temple and informed the matter to the police. Meanwhile when minority community leader Abdul Khader arrived at the spot, the anxious youth attacked him and damaged his car. The police intervened and controlled the situation.

Later Police Circle Inspector Suraj and Sub Inspector Mahesh held a peace meet. Hundreds of youth assembled in front of the Station during the peace meet. The tense atmosphere was prevailed in the town for a while.

A long discussion was held regarding the confiscation of beef in Kuduregundi on the day of Ramzan. The crowd was dispersed after both the parties were agreed of withdrawing the complaint, there by not giving any scope for further conflict.

Circle Inspector requested the public to inform the police in case they find illegal cow slaughtering and trading of beef.

He asked both the parties (Muslims and Hindus) to shake hand and end the hostility.
Bharatiya Janata Party  Yuva Morcha Block President Hosur Dinesh, Sri Ram Sene leader Youth Congress leader Sachin Meega, Srinivas Shetty from Bajarangadal, H L Deepak from the Congress, minority community leader Abdul Khader and others were present during the meet.
