Idol immersion: avoid these roads today

The Ganesha idol installed at Nehru Maidan will be taken out in a procession to Mahammai temple lake at Car Street for immersion via A B Shetty Circle, Clock Tower, Hampankatta, K S Rao Road, Navabharath Circle, Dongarakeri, New Chitra Junction, Balaji and Car Street. The diversion of traffic will be in place from 5.30 pm onwards, till the culmination of the procession.

In an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner, the vehicle movement from Hampankatta and Nehru Circle towards U P Mallya road will be completely banned. Vehicular movement from S P Circle to A B Shetty Circle and from Hamilton Circle to A B Shetty Circle too will be closed. Both city buses and KSRTC buses will be permitted to move from Hampankatta to State Bank like usual.

All those vehicles arriving from Mangaladevi towards State Bank will have to take a turn at Nehru Circle and then continue the journey. Route No 16 buses have been asked to reach Hamilton Circle via Nellikai Road and then return.

When the procession reaches near the RTO office, all the buses coming towards State Bank from Balmatta should alight their passengers near milagres and return.

Similarly Route No 27 buses should turn around Ananda Shetty Circle and go back. In the mean time, the vehicle movement from Mutthappa Gudi towards U P Mallya Road and Town Hall will be banned.

For the public who wish to take part in the procession, parking arrangements will be made by the side of Old Kent Road, Pandeshwar Road, Rosario Road and Port Road, informed a release.
