Earn an MBA in Hospital Management

The burgeoning scale of hospital dynamics calls for individuals who can handle hospital administration with an in-depth knowledge about the various segments in healthcare.

The healthcare sector also calls for a special set of managerial skills since hospital care requires team work wherein critical and time-bound operations get performed routinely in a challenging and multi-tasking environment.

Sensing this need, Sankara Nethralaya Academy (TSNA), Chennai has launched a two-year, full-time MBA in Hospital and Health System Management. This MBA programme is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr M G R Medical University, Chennai, and offered in association with the Gemba School of HR, Chennai.

Those who successfully complete this programme will be given a rounded understanding of the broad areas of healthcare management and issues related to administration, planning, organising, directing, and controlling the hospital’s human, financial, and information resources.

Who is eligible?
Candidates with an MBBS or BDS or degrees in Indian Medicine like BAMS, BHMS, BSMS, BNYS, BUMS are eligible to take up the course. Those who have degrees in allied health sciences like BSc(N), BPharm, BSc (MLT), BPT, BOT, BSc (Medical Sociology), too are eligible to apply for the course.

Application forms can be downloaded from the website www.thesnacademy.ac.in and the completed form must be submitted with a processing fee of Rs 500 by cash or as a demand draft in favour of the Medical Research Foundation, payable at Chennai.

Accent on practical sessions
This MBA programme will provide students with substantial practical schooling because Sankara Nethralaya is a hospital that handles thousands of patients in its numerous branches every day. Besides this, the course includes posting or visits in reputed multi-specialty hospitals in Chennai.

The programme includes classroom lectures, role play, interactive sessions, hospital and industrial sessions, group work and team building, faculty and student collaborative projects, and of course, hospital and industrial visits.

There will be no capitation fees or donation sought from candidates taking up the course. The Sankara Nethralaya Academy also pledges 100 per cent assurance for placement assistance, which include junior, middle and senior-level management postings in hospitals and healthcare institutions.
