At a turning point

It was a special and jubilant day for over 800 students as they were awarded certificates and medals amidst much excitement.

The chief guest for the function was P R Kumar, Professor at the University of Illinois, USA and Maheshappa, Vice-Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum was the guest of honour. Kumar congratulated the graduating students and wished them success in their careers.

“In this competitive world, one has to struggle hard to excel in his or her career and life. Therefore, students should have a clear thought about the path on which they should go forward and should not get distracted at any cost. Overcome all the obstacles and achieve your dreams and ambitions to lead a happy life,” he said.

He also congratulated the parents and the faculty members for their dedication and hard work.  H Maheshappa honoured the meritorious students with medals. He advised the students to realise their potential and effectively utilise it to build a good career. He said that being the future of the country, the students should develop their abilities and enhance their capabilities and work hard for the betterment of the society.

M R Doreswamy, Founder and Chairman of PES Institutions, administered the oath to the graduating students and presided over the function. K N Balasubramanya Murthy, Principal and Director of PESIT and Prof D Jawahar, CEO of PES Institutions were also present during the ceremony. The students were seen having good time with their parents and friends throughout the event. They expressed their joy by congratulating each other and clicking group pictures.

Like many others, it was a special day for Soujanya, a graduate in telecommunication engineering.

“As it was the first graduation ceremony in the college after attaining autonomous status, there was complete participation by the students. The day reminded us of our college days and we relived those moments again,” said Soujanya.

Vinit Ranjan, who stood first in Telecommunication Engineering, said that his aim was not to attain first place, but to study properly. He said, “I was always cool and relaxed while studying. The credit of my success goes to my parents and faculty members who were supportive.”
