Speaking to press persons, he said the district has received 400 mm to 600 mm rainfall this year.
Most of the roads in the district were damaged due to the rains which lashed over the district during second week of August.
Several coconut trees have been washed away due to sea erosion at Baindur, Yermal, Kodi and Muloor. The Pushkarni of Kumbhashi temple too has been damaged in the district.
The state government has released a sum of Rs 1.5 crore to undertake relief work for the damage.
