This is not right, pointed out Congress district unit President B Ramanath Rai at a press meet held at District Congress Office on Thursday.

Janardhan Reddy had asked CBI inquiry against Kumaraswamy regarding illegal mining. Now he is arrested by the CBI itself. Reddy’s arrest has nothing to do with Sonia Gandhi hence blaming her is not right, he said.

When a Congress person is jailed because of his mistakes, we have not supported him and have respected the court’s decision. The same should be followed by BJP, he said. Sufficient funds have not been released under the Aradhana scheme which aims at developing the worship places of backward communities and minorities.

In 2007-2008, Rs 90,00,000 lakhs was released for the district under the scheme, however, no fund was released in 2008-2009. In 2009-2010, Rs 7,14,272 was released and in 2010-2011, Rs 5,71424 was released, he said and added that this shows the State government is not bothered about the poor and backward communities.

The areca growers are suffering with the rot leaf disease. CM hailing from this district should do something for its people. The heavy rains have also created huge potholes on the roads.

A sum of Rs 25 crore should be released to do temporary road repairs, demanded Rai.
