“The case has already been launched under the Prevention of Corruption Act - it’s with the (elite investigative unit of the South African Police) Hawks,” Nyoka’s legal advisor Bernard Matheson told ‘Business Day’.

Majola initially repaid the IPL bonus, which he failed to declare to the board and received in addition to his CSA bonus for hosting IPL II in South Africa because of security concerns in India during the elections there, but got it back later.

Matheson, however, said they would also consider petitioning the High Court to secure documents relating to the IPL bonuses which effectively cleared Majola of wrongdoing.

First, an independent inquiry called for by Nyoka was turned into an internal one after he was dismissed in absentia. Following a High Court ruling ordering his reinstatement, Nyoka reinstituted the independent inquiry.
