These villagers believe in the teachings of Gandhi, Basavanna, Buddha follow it for their day to day life and lead a peaceful life. A visit to this village will be a memorable visit in one’s life. It is Chatnalli village situated 36 km from Chikmagalur district headquarters.

The villagers of this village of Chattalli in Nidaghatta Gram Panchayat have not entered the portals of the police station or court so far in their life. The welcome information plaque at the entrance of the village gives complete details on the village including the population, government employees, illiteracy rate and so on.

The village is a organic village. The village is known for its drainage system, concrete and asphalted roads and cleanliness. Chatnalli has also organised taluk level poets meet, literary meets and teachers’ day celebration. The village has a cultural hall which can accommodate thousand spectators at a time.  “The village is free from alcohol consumption.

As four persons smoke in the village, the villagers could not declare it as free from tobacco. The villagers eat only vegetarian food. The village is a clean village and all the houses have toilets along with community toilet.

We have not taken any dispute to the police station or court for disposing. We are close to all the officials except the police officers. Any dispute will be discussed and solved by our senior villagers. There is no question of hatredness in our village,” said villagers. The villagers believe in ten formula for unity in the village which believes in unity, peace, truth, coordination, harmony, live and let others live.
