Bus-train crash kills 6

“We have, regrettably, six victims who have died, and have transported at least 100 others” to area hospitals, said local fire chief Omar Bravo.

The crash occurred in Flores, a suburb located to the southwest of the Argentine capital, as one train was arriving in Flores from Buenos Aires. The accident occurred as thousands of commuters milled about the station at the start of the work day.

A police official said the train struck the bus, and dragged it along the tracks, shoving it into a second train. Authorities were investigating reports that the bus driver failed to heed a train crossing signal.
