KPCC president G Parameshwara said here on Tuesday that the CBI, which began investigation on the directions of the Andhra Pradesh government and arrested mining baron and former minister G Janardhana Reddy, should also take up the investigation in the State. He said that Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda would be protecting the culprits if he did not hand over the case to the CBI.
The investigating agencies have, in their report, suspected involvement of Reddy in illegal transport of five lakh tonnes of iron ore from the Belekeri port and hence, it would be appropriate for the CBI to investigate the case, Parameshwara said.
