Probe ordered into rural works in Urigili GP

Members of Taluk Employment Guarantee Implementing Committee were staged a protest in front of Deputy Commissioner’s office, urging to conduct inquiry into the alleged irregularities in NREGS, in Urigili Gram Panchayat limits, on Tuesday.

A memorandum was submitted to the deputy commissioner on July 2, demanding for an inquiry into the attack on Raita Sangha taluk unit president Krishnegowda and alleged irregularities in NREGS implementation. But no action was taken, the protesters alleged.

The agitators refused to withdraw their protest until the action was taken. The demand for a rule necessitating the distribution of wage of Rs 140 for digging 1 cubic mt of  ground as the soil in the district is hard, has not been fulfiled, they alleged.

Byareddy, V Geeta spoke on the occasion. The protest was taken out under the leadership of  Centre of Indian Trade Union and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI)
Additional Deputy Commissioner N Shivraj, pacifying the agitators said that tahsildar was entrusted with the task of conducting the probe into the matter.
