Siddaramaiah slammed for remarks against Advani

Last Updated 16 September 2011, 18:09 IST

Addressing the media in Bangalore on Friday, BJP State spokesperson Ayanur Manjunath said it was unfortunate that Siddaramaiah, who has a socialist background, talks light of Advani and his yatra.

“Siddaramaiah has no moral authority to make such statements, especially as a Congress leader. It is evident that he is making such statements before the media only to prove his party colleagues that he too exists in the party,” he said.

Siddaramaiah had on Thursday slammed Advani for his decision to go on a rath yatra against corruption when two former BJP ministers had been arrested, while former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa had been summoned by the court.

Manjunath said Siddaramaiah should exercise restraint while speaking about corruption because the UPA government is mired in corruption.

Manjunath also criticised the UPA government for effecting yet another hike in petrol prices. He said that the hike had affected the middle class adversely.
