RCB coach Ray Jennings paid glowing tributes to Kumble for performing a less obvious but an important role with aplomb.

“For me, Kumble is like that atmosphere after a hurricane, utterly calm. When you see the sun after a spell of storm or tsunami, it gives you a good feeling of being alive. Kumble gives me the same feeling. Yesterday, he just spent a few minutes with us at nets, and I got the feeling that everything is ok here. He does not need to do anything special for that. His presence is enough.

“If I have problem, I can get that to him for a solution. He has that calming influence on the individual. Like any other team, RCB too have to deal with a lot pressures, and Kumble’s presence is very important here. We have an owner who is very demanding about our performance on the field, and Kumble bridges the gap between a coach and the owner with ease,” Jennings said.
