In a freak accident, the roof and shed enclosure constructed using bamboo and coconut fronds were reduced to ashes. The unit belongs to Vasanth Pai, a resident of Car Street. A case has been registered in this regard.
Federation threatens stir
Dakshina Kannada district Disabled Federation threatened to stage a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, if the police fail to arrest the accused who was involved in assaulting a disabled person Ravindra Poojary at Vittal, within three days.
Addressing a press meet here on Tuesday, he said “Poojary was assaulted by a certain Rajesh at Vittal on August 7. Poojary has been severely injured and is recupaertaing in a hospital in Puttur. Though a complaint has been registered in Vittal police station, no action has been taken against the accused so far, he alleged.
