We can go all the way, says Ganga

The Trindad & Tobago skipper was referring to the fact that his side would play against former team-mates Pollard and Bravo, opting to play for Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings respectively.

“We are looking forward, we dreamt about playing against these guys,” Ganga said on Tuesday after T&T secured a place in the main draw. “I am sure the entire Trindad & Tobago will be looking forward to it and I am confident we will rise to the occasion. Without sounding boastful, we came here looking to play eight matches. We believe we have the ability and the quality to go all the way in the competition.

“It’s a very rare opportunity to play competitively against your team-mates. We have prepared well, and if we can beat teams that have Pollard and Bravo, it will be another feather in our cap. Everyone is very motivated for those two matches in particular.”

Ganga, though, quickly added that things won’t be very easy in Group A. “It’s frightening seeing the teams in our group!” he noted. “We have the Super Kings, the Mumbai Indians and NSW Blues. It’s a good challenge for us, and we are relishing the opportunity to do battle against these teams.

“Our first aim was to get through to the main draw. We are very pleased both in achieving that and in the manner in which we have come through the qualifying phase,” added Ganga.
