Minor dies of burns

The girl, who sustained 90 per cent burns, died at a hospital in Kanpur town.
According to the police, the youth identified as Ghulam Kadir of Musahibpur village, barged into her house on Tuesday night and tried to rape her while her parents were away.

The girl put up a stiff resistance, provoking Kadir to pour kerosene over her body and set her ablaze.

By the time the neighbours reached the spot she was badly burnt. Though she was rushed to a  a Kanpur hospital, but breathed her last on Wednesday  morning.
