Each colour and each design has a symbolic meaning. Hand-woven with care and craftsmanship, the weaver knows that only his deft fingers can capture the dazzling brilliance of those vibrant hues and shades.

The handcrafted jewellery are a perfect compliment to such rhapsodies in silk and cotton. And now, all these will be available at the Vastrabharana exhibition which will be held at the Chitrakala Parishath from September 30 to October 4. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Vyjayanthimala Bali on September 30, 10 am and it will be open to the public till October 4, from 10.30 am to 7.30 pm.

This has been an annual event since 1993 and explores the possibilities of bringing the unexposed and talented craftspersons from the remotest parts of the country into the limelight.

This year, 41 platforms are being given to craftspersons and crafts units from various places under one roof. Participants in this year's exhibition hail from 15 states including Karnataka.
