The artistes sang a variety of songs, mostly composed by Surdas. The songs, were about the love that Surdas as a disciple, had for Krishna and also about Krishna’s disciples and
loved ones.

The artistes, O S Arun and Sanjay Abhyankar, sang a wide range of classical songs in Hindi for the audience. Their performance was accompanied by music of the quartet who performed along with them on stage.

One of the ragas, Jasumati Man Abhilash Kare composed by Surdas, talks about Yashodhara who ponders as to when Krishna’s feet will touch the ground. She wonders when he will start calling her ‘Ma’ and speak other words as well. She, just like any mother, is anxious and excited about her child growing up.

The next performance by Sanjeev Abhyankar was Sabse Uchi Prem Sagai. This song upheld love as the most important and beautiful thing in the entire world. The song was so soulful and soothing that members of the audience closed their eyes to feel the beauty of the song. His beautiful voice along with the music had the audience enthralled.   The next song was performed by O S Arun who showed his ease with the high notes. This was followed by Ankhiyan haridarasana ki pyaasi, which was a melodious song about the disciples of Krishna who are left pinning for him. The torture and pain of his departure is felt by everybody and they are left thirsty and empty without him. Sanjeev Abhyankar sang this touching song in his melodious voice.

Bhakta Jana Vatsale, a lively song, was performed by O S Arun. This had the audience clap and sing along. Vidhi, a member of the audience said, “Listening to Bhakti Sangeet is always a great pleasure and these two singers were so wonderful and skilled. It was a very good performance.”
