The show was inaugurated by agriculture minister S A Raveendranath here on Friday at Curzon park. Around the replica are the famous personas who made Mysore and Karnataka proud in literary, music, engineering and other fields. This apart, a sand sculpture of Goddess Chamundeshwari in the background, is providing a perfect setting to the whole show. District in-charge minister Ramdas and mayor Pushpalatha Chikkanna accompanied the agriculture minister along with ZP CEO Sathyavathy.

About 40,000 pots sporting varieties of plants — leaves, flowers and vegetables — were on display with the horticulture departments from K R Sagar and Ooty participating in the event.

Competitions like vegetable carving, creating flower rangoli, ikebana and gardening have been organised as part of the event. Flowers and seeds, with some rare orchids too have been put on sale at the association premises by experts. Those who got inspired enough to grow similar plants in their house, could avail the opportunity to buy plants from stalls selling plants and fertilisers.
