The Indians won eight gold, and as many silver and bronze medals in the four-day meet.

While their diving team won a silver and a bronze each, the water polo girls and boys finished third. India thus ended up with 28 medals.

On Thursday, Virdhawal Khade (Group A) lowered the National record on his way to the 50M freestyle victory in 22.55 seconds. The 18-year-old erased his own mark of 22.68. Richa surged to the 1500 freestyle gold in a new record time of 17 minutes 33.35 seconds, rewriting the previous best of 17:49.84 set by Yu Chia Chinang of Taipei. In the process, the Police swimmer also broke the national record (18:00.64) created by herself in 2007.

Other results: Group A boys: 200M butterfly: Rehan Poncha (2:00.70) silver; National record. Old record: 2:01.40 (Poncha).

Group B boys: 400M freestyle: Aaron D’Souza (4:03.61) silver.

4x100M freestyle relay: (Pulkit Kumar, Jayawant , Gagan A P, Aaron) 3:36.90, bronze.
