'Rs 45 cr for physical education'

Speaking to mediapersons after offering prayers at the Sri Subrahmanya Temple here on Monday, Kageri said that the Yogasana competition has been made compulsory in taluk level Prathibha Karanji festivals. The yogasana competition has been made compulsory considering its unique possibility to decrease the mental stress in children, he said adding that special instructions were given to officials and physical education teachers to concentrate more on yoga training.

Text books were being prepared based on Vaidyanathan report, he said adding that the text book transportation work also has been started.

Kageri said that around 500 ‘R’ Group employees in the private aided institutions were not provided with grants under the aid facilities in the state. Government will think of making them regular employees, he added.

‘Nali-Kali’, the activity based learning method, will be introduced in 45,000 government schools in the state from this academic year, he said. Students of first and second standard in all schools will be taught according to Nali-Kali method, he added.

Temple administrative committee president T Venkatramana Bhat, Sullia block education officer Malleswamy, Subramanya gram panchayat president M A Chandrakala and vice president Manjunath Rao were present.
