Cloud-seeding likely: Reddy

He was speaking to mediapersons, after taking part in the Independence Day celebrations in Chitradurga on Saturday.

He said, preparations were on for last several days, for the cloud-seeding process. It will be implemented at places where it was possible to save the agricultural crops. A final decision will be taken in this regard soon, the minister added.

He said, an Andhra Pradesh-based company will be giving a proposal in this regard on Monday. After that, a proposal regarding the expenses involved in the implementation of this programme will be submitted to the Finance Department. Further action will be taken, after the green signal by the Finance Department. He said, based on the scientific yardsticks, the taluks reeling under drought had been declared drought-hit. There was no discrimination in this regard. If there were few more taluks which were drought-hit, a decision to announce them will be taken in the future meetings, he added.
