Bypoll: Prohibitory orders imposed

The election is scheduled for Aug 18 and counting of votes will be taken up on Aug 21.
A release issued by Police Commissioner, Shankar Bidari, here on Saturday states that prohibitory orders have been issued under Section 144 CrPC within the limits of Magadi Road, Kamakshipalya, Vijayanagara, Byatarayanapura, Chandra Layout and Jnanabharathi police stations.

The order prohibits sale, consumption, procurement and storage of liquor, wine, arrack or any other intoxicant in any wholesale and retail outlets and orders that all liquor shops, wine shops and bars situated in the above limits will remain closed  from 5 pm on Aug 16 to mid night of Aug 18, 2009.

It also prohibits the carrying of any type of the fire arms and deadly weapons, such cudgels, swords, bludgeons, guns, knives, sticks or lathis or other  articles.
