At a meeting to review utilisation of three per cent funds reserved for the handicapped in Kolar on Tuesday he said the fund was released under the Rural Development Scheme to facilitate rehabilitation of the persons with disabilities socially, economically and medically.

Survey with volunteers

The officers of the Women and Child Welfare Department, Senior Citizens Welfare Department with the help of volunteers may carry out the survey, he said.

He said the department also plans to increase the allocation to Rs 56 lakh which can be utilised to give honorarium for the volunteers.

Raise in honorarium

He directed the taluk panchayat executive officers to increase the honorarium from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000 for the volunteers who participate in the survey to identify the beneficiaries of the pension scheme.

Zilla Panchayat chief executive officer N Shantappa, chief accountant Ganganna, additional deputy commissioner N Babanna, Women and Child Welfare Department deputy director Vimala, Senior Citizens’ Welfare Department officer Nagamani, NABARD district manager Jayaprakash Samudre and other officers were present at the meeting.
