A private mobile company had installed a mobile tower at Aramanemakki maidan and the accident occurred at the foot of the tower.
It is said that the equipment which brings power to the tower had spoilt and as a result some good conductor material had fallen on the ground.
The cattle, which came grazing near the tower got electrocuted anddied.
The owners of the tower refused to provide any compensation when the local residents said that tower owners should give a compensation of Rs 10,000 to Chandru from Bovipalu, the owner of the cattle.
However, the authorities concerned agreed after Karnataka Rakshana Vedike President Ravi Rai and other members staged a protest by switching off all signals from the tower.
