An aeronautical engineering student was killed on the spot, while his friend sustained severe injuries near Cable Bridge on G M Road, on early Sunday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rahul (25) from Assam, while the injured Suraj Singh (25) is battling for life at a private hospital.
Both of them were staying as paying guests at Avalahalli. Rahul was a student at Hindustan Aviation Academy, in Marathalli. Suraj Singh is a BBM student at East Point College.
They were returning home on a motor bike when the accident occurred.
Rahul was killed on the spot when his motor bike hit a median. The night patrolling police shifted Suraj Singh to the hospital.
Knocked down
In another accident which took place in Electronic City on Sunday afternoon, a 50-year-old woman was killed on the spot when a car knocked her down.
The deceased has been identified as Sunandamma.
She was a labourer and was residing in Singasandra. The accident occurred when Sunandamma was trying to cross a road on Hosur Road. The car driver is absconding after the accident.
