“The number of repeated offenders of traffic rules is on the rise. The decision to suspend licences has been taken to check increasing accidents,” said M A Saleem, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic & Security) told Deccan Herald.
Safety rules
The new rule will ensure road safety besides preventing accidents. Riders who do not wear helmets too will be booked for traffic violation, he added.
The information uploaded with the help of blackberry will be utilised to identify and track repeat offenders.
The impounded driving licences will be suspended for a period of three to six months, he said.
