Last Updated 05 November 2011, 20:11 IST

Addressing an impromptu news conference here, Advani said: “Three MPs have been linked to the black money stashed in Swiss and other foreign banks. If it is true, then the issue of black money comes close to the political system. The government must make public full facts on the issue.”

He said that the three MPs whose names have figured in the list of 700 Indians, who “had allegedly stashed away money in Swiss and other foreign banks comprised one each from Kerala, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.”

“As a Member of Parliament, I have the right to know to who the three MPs are,” he said.
In the meeting with the press just before the end of the second leg of “Jan Chetna Yatra” in Maharashtra, the BJP leader asked: “Why is Congress President Sonia Gandhi totally silent on the issues of black money, corruption and inflation.”

Stating that the BJP will attack the government in the forthcoming winter session  on black money, he said: “I believe that after my Jan Chetna Yatra, the focus of the winter session of Parliament is bound to be on black money parked in foreign banks.”

The BJP leader also reiterated his demand for a “comprehensive” white paper from the UPA government on the steps taken by it to address the issue of Rs 25 lakh crore of black money stashed away in Swiss and other foreign banks.

“In 2009. when I raised the black money issue in Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh then proclaimed that he would take necessary initiatives within 100 days of coming to power…  It would be appropriate that the Government comes with a comprehensive white paper on how the Government dwelt with the black money issue till date,” he said.
