Last Updated 06 November 2011, 18:59 IST

A section of the party leaders saw the high command's decision as a move to cut KPCC president G Prameshwara to the size in the wake of some senior leaders lodging a complaint with the party high command against him recently.

They had complained that Parameshwara was not taking them into confidence and encouraging factionalism in the party. The dissatisfied leaders had said that the party faced a drubbing in almost all the byelections in the recent past due to Parameshwara's style of functioning.

Addressing reporters after the meeting of with top leaders at a private resort on the outskirts of Bangalore, the KPCC chief, however, said that the Union Ministers from State have agreed to actively take part in election preparation process despite their busy schedules. They will soon be given responsibility of a particular region in the State, he added.

Sources said that some State leaders had complained that the Union Ministers were neither involving themselves in local elections nor helping the candidates and the
workers with funds.

As a result, the party decided to fix the responsibility on the ministers.
