Thackeray scoffs at Hazare

The editorial’s headline read, “Team Anna stop crowing about your effect.” It claimed that the defeat of the Congress in the recent Hisar by-poll had nothing to do with Anna Hazare or his team member.

“The state of Congress is that it is as good as ready for burial. The political atmosphere for the Congress in country at present is bleak. Team Anna is only interested in riding in front of the funeral procession to stake claim on the demise of a dead party. In fact, a simple electoral result analysis of the Hisar by-poll reveals that the Congress’s position since the last election has not changed at all. It has remained where it was, in the third position, despite the Team Anna’s campaign.”

The brouhaha being churned out by Team Anna smacks of “mendacity and desperate attempts to take undue credit. In Maharashtra, the Congress-NCP candidate in the Khadakwasla assembly by-poll lost to the Shiv Sena-BJP candidate.

The editorial also took a dig at the people thronging Hazare’s headquarters in Ralegan Siddi. “Before talking about corruption outside why don’t you look into the affairs of your team members, Kejriwal, Bedi and Sisodia? Then you also have a team member Prashant Bhushan who likes to make anti-national statements.”
