Over 600 NCC cadets, both boys and girls from all over the country, participated in a series of professional competitions held at the camp, which had begun on October 31 at the Jakkur Air Station here.

At the valedictory, Governor H R Bhardwaj said the Armed Forces were the backbone of the country and urged the cadets to join the Defence Services and the Civil Aviation Industry.

He said the Indian Air Force and the Indian Aviation industry had a great role to play in the national development and hence, the Air Wing of the NCC would be a significant contributor. Being an ex-NCC cadet, the Governor wished the cadets a bright future.

The Air Wing Cadets were given exposure in making ‘static’ aero models as well as ‘flying’ aircraft models, both control line and remote controlled ones. They were trained in para sailing, gliding, flying the microlite aircraft and training in skeet shooting as well. The cadets competed for the ‘Best Cadet’ in different disciplines. During the camp, the cadets also got experience sorties on the Indian Air Force aircraft.

Maharashtra NCC Directorate won the over all championship trophy and the Karnataka and Goa NCC Directorate won the 2nd position.
