State announces children's awards

Besides, the Government has selected 38 children who excelled academically by scoring more than 60 per cent in SSLC and PUC in the Government Children Home for Boys and Girls for the children’s award. The institution awards carry a cash prize of Rs one lakh and a citation and individual awards carry a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a citation.
The awards will be presented by Governor H R Bhardwaj at a function to be organised at Bal Bhavan on November 14.

Meet on children’s issues

The State government has directed all gram sabhas in the State to hold a special meeting in November to exclusively discuss about issues related to children, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Jagadish Shettar said.
