Apparently it was aimed at scoring political points and to send the message that her life too was “no less inspirational” with the chief minister blocking the prime minister’s message to the students of government primary schools in the state and choosing to have her own message read out to them narrating how she excelled despite studying in an “ordinary government school.”

Mayawati issued a message to the students of the state primary schools on Thursday night in an apparent bid to “counter” prime minister’s similar letter, which her government blocked though unofficially.

That Mayawati’s letter was aimed at countering the one written by the prime minister was apparent from the wordings.

Like the prime minister, Mayawati also tried to drive home the message that she also achieved success through “hard work” and “determination.”

“I received my education in an ordinary government school. I always excelled because of my hard work and determination and performed better than my brothers,” Mayawati said in her letter.
