Palike on Round 2 of cable cutting

Palike Commissioner Siddaiah said as many as 25 cables laid on Kurubara Halli Main Road, Near Shankar Mutt, Modi Hospital, and Mahalakshmi Puram were cut on Tuesday.

The OFC service providers had approached the High Court questioning the BBMP action to cut unauthorised cables laid by them. The Court has asked the Palike not to go ahead with the proposal for two weeks by which time the service providers were directed to furnish additional information on the length of the cables they had laid.

Accordingly, the latter declared that they had laid cables for a length of 1,600 km in addition to 4,700 km length declared earlier.

A press release from the Palike still more cables, not disclosed by the service providers, were found during spot inspection. The operation to cut the cables was resumed after the deadline set by the High Court expired.
