He also elevated one minister to the cabinet rank while all the new six are ministers of state.
Acting Governor Shivraj Patil administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers at a function held at Raj Bhavan here on Wednesday evening. With this induction the number of the ministry has now gone up to 27, three short of the maximum strength of the ministry in the 200-member strong assembly.The chief minister also announced seven more parliamentary secretaries in addition to the six who enjoy the rank of a minister of state.
The council of ministers had earlier tendered resignations to the chief minister at an emergency meeting held on Monday.The chief minister in the ministry attempted to give more representation to women, SCs and STs and Muslims.
Among the six who returned to the ministry included Amin Khan who made a comeback after nine months. He was bowed out of office following his alleged derogatory remarks against President Prathibha Patil.
