Students protest over non-issue of receipts

Last Updated 19 November 2011, 18:37 IST

The students were protesting against the collection of fees by the educational institutions without the issuance of receipts.

The students alleged that the educational institutions collected an amount of Rs 200 from the students and did not issue receipts for the same.

When the authorities concerned were questioned about this, they justified the collection of fees by stating that the amount was being collected towards the school development. The authorities never issued any receipts at all, they complained.

They alleged that it was a rule in every Government organisation or institution to issue receipts for the collection of any amount of fees collected from the students. However, the authorities had violated all rules and regulations by not issuing any receipts. Either, the authorities should issue receipts or they should handover the money back to the students, they urged.

Later on, the protesters also complained to the deputy director to the Department of Public Instruction. SFI State Committee member Amaresh, district unit president N Sandeep, vice-president Shivaraj and several others took part in the dharna.
