Spoilt for choice

Splash knows exactly what the youngsters want and if you walk into any of their stores at any time of the day, you would find people walking out with a bag or two in hand. It’s a place which can give you a complete look, head to toe, and leave you spoilt for choice.
Metrolife interacted with the design team of ‘Splash’ to get an insight into what drives the brand to stay on top. The design team believes in showcasing high fashion. It stocks popular collections for men, women and teens with a wide offering of fashion apparel and accessories to suit everyone’s needs.

‘Splash’ surges forward with the mantra of reinvention, rejuvenation and exploration. “We express our individualism through fashion. It’s all about making statements which vary from heritage to a fresh view on minimalism and from retro-inspired to luxe grunge,” observes the design team, which thinks that the key to the brand’s success lies in its ability to construct unique looks for both men and women.

The ‘Autumn Winter’ collection consists of casual clothes that are youth-driven. They come in preppy overtones, pop brights, bold multi-coloured effects, metallic colour mixes, prints and stripes. There are scoop-neck tees worn with regimental stripe pants, pieced with fine-gauge cardigans and complemented with toggle coats, which are a menswear essential. Next in line is ‘Electro Mod’ which is a perfect combination of high luxury and absolute subtlety, with modern silhouettes in hyper-bright hues.

“Here, you find mixed fabrics which create rounded and weightless silhouettes that are set against crackled prints, grid checks, geometrics and the 60s optical look,” explains the design team. You would find slim, cropped ‘shrunken’ trousers with fitted sweaters and flat-knit turtlenecks in this collection. You will also find simple coats, shift dresses with dropped waistlines, neat-shell tops, tunics and tabards with funnel-neck or Peter Pan collars combined with flared or cropped narrow pants.  The ‘Retro Collection’ stocks men’s formal and casual wear that come in attractive cuts and designs. The ‘Nexus Women’ too has an impressive range in women’s formal wear.

The men’s line has flares, velvet blazers and skinny polo-necks while women have culottes, slim torsos and flared pants, natty-belted jackets and leather day dresses. “Fuller pleated skirts are also making a comeback and can be teamed with prim collars and jewel necklines tops,” the say.

The clothes at ‘Splash’ are high on design and the design team thinks accessorising the outfit would only take it to another level. About how essential is it to match footwear to the clothes, the team points out that it is not necessary. “One must be able to carry off what they are wearing with confidence and ease,” they wrap up.
