FDI inflows up 41%

During January-September 201O, the country had attracted Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) worth US$15.97 billion.

The FDI inflows totalled US$19.42 billion in 2010-11 financial year, down from US$25.83 billion in 2009-10.

Experts maintained that the government should further streamline policies and make the environment more conducive to FDI.

The sectors that attracted maximum FDI during the nine-month period include services (financial and non- financial), telecom, housing and real estate, and construction and power.
