'Be different' suggests Gowda

He advised the students of rural areas to opt for technical studies that has more opportunities than the conventional ones selected by majority of the students.

Speaking after inauguration of a polytechnic college constructed at a cost of Rs eight crore in Holenarasipur, he said the government had agreed to extend diploma courses in 20 different subjects at Hassan polytechnic . But the successive government had not cooperated in this regard.

He also blamed that 30 per cent of funds allotted under MP’s fund has been misused and also assured to give funds amounting to Rs 20 lakh for furniture and lab facilities to the college, if rules permit.

He pointed out that the rural students are still after degree courses like BA, BSc, BCom, they have to think different and opt for technical education, he opined. MLA H D Revanna, TMC standing committee president T Mallesh, Jagalasar of public works department, Ramachandra, Kodandaramaiah, principal C J Prakash and others were present.

Later, Revanna performed ground breaking ceremony for a polytechnic hostel being constructed at a cost or Rs one crore.

Hunger stir

Deve Gowda disclosed that he would stage one-day hunger stir near Mahatma Gandhi statue in Bangalore against those responsible for the death of a youth who committed suicide for the cause of farmers.

Interaction

Interacting with the students during his visit to the inauguration of a polytechnic college, he said thousands of farmers and supporters will be accompanying him on the day.

He flayed the police department for not taking any action against Ashok Kheny and Rudresh who were responsible for the youth’s death though they were booked under section 302, 307.

He will fight for the cause of the people until his last breath, he stated.
