Statistics pivotal for implementation of agri schemes

He was speaking after inaugurating a training workshop organised by the Department of Economics and Statistics at the Taluk Panchayat premises on Thursday.

With a large section of population in India still practising agriculture, maintenance of statistics relating to land records and other aspects of agriculture is crucial, he added.

A complete understanding of the crop patterns and practise of agriculture in various regions in the State can be had only by gleaning Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops RTCs (pahani) prepared by village accountants. Thus, the importance of statistics cannot be undermined, said the district statistics officer.
