Cong leader abducted

Eye-witnesses, in their statement to police have said that Reddy was on the way to his house when miscreants who came in two cars threw chilly powder on his face and assaulted him with iron rods. They later drove away by throwing Reddy in the boot of one of the vehicles. The abduction, said to be by relatives of Reddy, is being attributed to family disputes.

Unconfirmed reports said that the abductors called Congress leader Krishanappa over phone on Wednesday late night and demanded money, settlement of property disputes as conditions for release of Reddy.
