Forest Department has grown plants in 20 acres of land in survey number 204 of the village. However, five persons have created documents claiming that they have been cultivating the land. None of the persons in whose favour the land has been granted are not the residents of the village, whereas the records show them to be the locals, the villagers complained before tahsildar Nagaraj, who visited the village, recently. They also alleged that few officers were hand in glove with the persons attempting to grab the land.
They said that such instances were on the rise in view of the increase in land prices in the taluk, and demanded legal action against land grabbers. Gram Panchayat president Veerappa, APMC former president Krishnamurthy, village leaders Srinivasamurthy, Lokesh, Manjunth were present.
