Rains: 'Release compensation immediately'

He alleged the District-in-Charge Minister of hoodwinking the people by holding a visit to inspect the rain affected areas but it was a team of Congress leaders, which held a visit, ascertained rain damages and urged the district administration to provide compensation to the victims.

The Government has not provided any compensation so far.

He said that government must call a meeting of Sringeri, Koppa, N R Pura, Mudigere and Chikmagalur taluk Agriculture, revenue and horticulture department officials and collect report. He urged the government to declare plains like Kadur, Tarikere taluk and Ambale, Lakya, Kasaba hobli in Chikmagalur taluk as drought affected areas.

District Congress has started membership drive and the registration of members to the party is going on in full swing at the booth level. The drive will be over by this month end.
