The proposed summit, which is a mark of protest, would be held on December 1 and 2 in Bangalore, she added.

Addressing the participants at a farmers conference here on Tuesday, she said: “The state government does not have funds to invest in agriculture, hence it is opening doors to foreign investors. This is a shameful act. The meet that will be held under the guise of bringing some stability in agriculture is a sham. We will lay siege to Vidhana Soudha, opposing this on November 30,” she said.

“The Central government is all set to table the rehabilitation and land acquisition bill in Parliament. This is bound to sound death knell for farmers. It is rather tragic that Youth Congress icon Rahul Gandhi is all set to bring this Act,” she added.

While BJP is opposing FDI in retail market at the Centre, Karnataka is opening doors to international investors. Farmers need to understand this duality, which will eventually ruin them, she added stating that Raita Sangha will fight against land acquisition up to 40,000 acres, as mentioned by agriculture minister.
