<p>The House was adjourned thrice during the day's proceedings, witnessing vociferous shouting from the Opposition benches demanding that MSP for cotton should be hiked to Rs 6,000 per quintal. <br /><br />Following the adjournment at noon, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan tabled a condolence resolution as a mark of respect to the former members of the House.<br /><br />The House paid tributes to Dattatray Patil, Ganpati Lad, Vitthal Kaldate, Shashishekhar Athalye, Ramrao Yadav Lonikar, Gajanan Loke, Narayanbhau Bahekar, Bhausaheb Deshmukh, Navneetbhai Barshikar and Hamumant Bobde.<br /><br />Soon after the condolence resolution, the Opposition’s voices rose in unison, demanding a discussion on the cotton MSP. Some of the Opposition members even brought cotton staples to the house and handed it over to the chief minister as a gift.<br />Even as the chairperson tried to bring some semblance of order to the ruckus created by the Opposition, the House had to be adjourned. <br /><br />But even after a 10-minute break, the Opposition began shouting slogans, rushed into the well and gheraoed the chairperson’s table the moment the House resumed.<br /></p>
