At a corner in Oxford Bookstore, away from the bustling crowd, a special screen was set up for the screening of the movie 13th floor directed by Luke Kenny.

A small crowd of around 20 people settled themselves down and waited for the movie to start.

A lot of murmuring was heard before the movie started with people wondering out loud about the film’s small cast, the fact that the director was a VJ and the general limitations of a low budget production.

However, once the lights went down and the movie started, everyone was engrossed for the next 80 minutes. The cast of the movie consisted of only two people Purab Kohli and Sandhya Mridul.

Set in the crowded, bustling city Mumbai, that never sleeps, two strangers Suraj and Naina get stuck in an elevator overnight, due to a massive power failure which led to a blackout in the whole of Maharashtra.

In the claustrophobic confines of the elevator, Suraj and Naina have no choice but to get talking, and as the night wears on they begin to reveal themselves to each other.

The plot keeps the audience engrossed leading to a stunning climax which leaves the two devastated probably for the rest of their lives.

Nataraj, who watched the movie said: “I had heard a lot about the film. It’s low budget and the fact that it was shot in just six days, so I decided to take time off to watch it. It was a totally different experience and kept me thinking throughout as to what would happen next. Even at the end of the movie I was left uncertainly wondering about the sudden change in the end.”

The movie was enjoyed by most of the audience who had gathered to watch it.
The audience was taken aback by the stunning climax which left some of them shocked while others found it hilarious.

Sangeetha Natesan, who had come to watch the movie said, “I liked the movie as it was very different and unique. I had not seen a movie like this before and the lines on which the movie ran was very unusual and kept one quite engrossed.”
